Errors in the Transcribed Sheet Music: What to Do?

Encountered issues in your violin transcription? Here’s how to fix them.

Even if you follow all our best practices, ViolinConvert may still produce occasional transcription errors. Automatic violin transcription is a technically complex process, and errors like incorrect pitches, missing notes, or rhythmic imprecision may sometimes occur.

Since ViolinConvert generates standard violin sheet music, it’s important to carefully review the result and make adjustments if needed to match your expectations.

Here are your best options for correcting transcription issues:

1) Instantly edit your sheet music in our in-app editor (Premium Only)

If you’ve subscribed to a plan and transcribed a full track (not just the free 30-second preview), you now have access to our built-in sheet music editor right after your transcription is complete.

With this editor, you can:

- Visually correct wrong notes directly on the digital sheet music.

- Add or remove notes, adjust durations, time signatures, and dynamics.

- Play back your transcription using realistic sounds.

- Print your final sheet or export it as PDF, MIDI, or MusicXML.

- Work interactively on desktop, tablet or smartphone, without installing anything.

This feature is seamlessly integrated into the sheet music view and requires no software download or file export.

⚠️ Please note: This in-app editing tool is only available for full transcriptions done with a paid plan. Free 30-second previews are view-only and cannot be edited inside the app.

🎻 2) Try another version of the piece

If you’re not tied to a specific recording, consider using a different version of the same violin piece.

For better accuracy:

✅ Use a recording with a clean, solo violin performance

✅ Avoid live performances with ambient noise

✅ Choose a simplified version if available (e.g., student arrangements)

💡 Tip: Always use the 30-second free trial to preview the transcription accuracy before converting the full piece.

✏ 3) Manually correct the remaining errors in the MIDI file

If you want to keep a particular version, the best approach is to edit the MIDI file manually to fix note pitch, duration, or articulation issues.

You can use the following free tools to edit your violin MIDI file:

Aria Maestosa

Signal

Amped Studio

Soundation

Online Sequencer

Once you’re done editing, export the file as a PDF and MusicXML using notation tools like MuseScore or Flat.io to generate polished sheet music.

🎼 4) Add musical context before transcribing

To enhance accuracy, you can provide musical information before starting the transcription, such as:

Time signature (e.g., 4/4, 3/4, 6/8)

Tempo (BPM)

This helps ViolinConvert better align the rhythm and improve sheet structure and note placement.
