On SaxConvert, some recordings may not be transcribed correctly due to various technical or content-related factors. Below are the most common issues and how to fix them:

🎷 1) Your file is too large or too long

SaxConvert has limitations on file size and track duration. If your audio file or YouTube link exceeds these limits, the transcription may fail.

✅ Ensure your audio file is no larger than 15MB

✅ YouTube videos must be no longer than 10 minutes

💡 Tip: If your file is larger than 15MB and in .wav or .flac format, convert it to .mp3 to reduce its size. Use this tool: https://convertio.co/wav-mp3/

🛑 2) Your audio file is corrupted or unreadable

Some audio files may contain internal errors that prevent SaxConvert from analyzing them properly.

🔹 Try uploading a different version of the same saxophone piece

🔹 If the file is in WAV format, convert it to MP3 for better compatibility

💡 Convert here: https://convertio.co/wav-mp3/

🌐 3) Temporary internal error on SaxConvert

SaxConvert relies on cloud infrastructure, and occasional server issues may prevent the transcription process from completing.

🕒 Solution: Wait a few minutes and try again. The issue usually resolves quickly.

🔗 4) The YouTube link format is not supported

Some YouTube URLs may not be recognized by SaxConvert. Try copying the link using one of these methods:

1️⃣ Copy the URL from your browser’s address bar

2️⃣ Right-click a YouTube search result and choose “Copy link”

3️⃣ Click the “Share” button below the video and copy the link from the popup

🎷 Still having trouble?

Try using a different YouTube video or upload the audio as an MP3 file instead for better reliability.

5) Your VPN may be interfering with the transcription

Some users have reported that having a VPN enabled on their device caused transcription processes to fail (e.g., stopping at 90%) or prevented file downloads. If you are using a VPN, we recommend turning it off and trying again. This small change has resolved many similar cases.
