Even when following all our best practices, SaxConvert may occasionally produce transcription errors. Automatic music transcription is a complex task, and issues like wrong notes, missing pitches, or timing inaccuracies can sometimes occur.

Since SaxConvert generates standard sheet music for saxophone, we recommend reviewing your score carefully to ensure everything matches your performance.

Here are the best options for correcting any mistakes:

1) Instantly edit your sheet music in our in-app editor (Premium Only)

If you’ve subscribed to a plan and transcribed a full track (not just the free 30-second preview), you now have access to our built-in sheet music editor right after your transcription is complete.

With this editor, you can:

- Visually correct wrong notes directly on the digital sheet music.

- Add or remove notes, adjust durations, time signatures, and dynamics.

- Play back your transcription using realistic sounds.

- Print your final sheet or export it as PDF, MIDI, or MusicXML.

- Work interactively on desktop, tablet or smartphone, without installing anything.

This feature is seamlessly integrated into the sheet music view and requires no software download or file export.

⚠️ Please note: This in-app editing tool is only available for full transcriptions done with a paid plan. Free 30-second previews are view-only and cannot be edited inside the app.

🎷 2) Try a different version of the piece

If you’re not tied to a specific recording, consider using an alternative version of the same saxophone piece.

For better accuracy:

✅ Use a clean, solo saxophone recording

✅ Avoid live or low-quality recordings

✅ Choose a simplified or slower arrangement if possible

💡 Tip: Always use the 30-second free trial to preview transcription quality before converting the entire piece.

✏ 3) Manually correct the remaining errors in the MIDI file

If you want to keep a specific version of your recording, the best approach is to manually edit the MIDI file to correct note timing, pitch, or duration.

Here are some free tools you can use to edit your saxophone MIDI files:

Aria Maestosa

Signal

Amped Studio

Soundation

Online Sequencer

After editing, you can re-export the MIDI as a polished PDF and MusicXML file using MuseScore or Flat.io.

🎼 4) Add musical context before transcribing

To enhance accuracy, we recommend filling in some musical details before starting the transcription:

Time signature (e.g., 4/4, 3/4)

Tempo (BPM)

This helps SaxConvert better structure your sheet music and improves rhythm alignment.
