How Can I Reduce the Size of the Songs I Import?

GuitarConvert cannot transcribe songs that are too long or too large. To optimize the transcription process, the following limits have been set:

Audio files must be under 15 MB

YouTube videos must be under 10 minutes

If your file exceeds these limits, here’s how to reduce its size quickly and efficiently:

If your audio file is in WAV or FLAC format, converting it to MP3 can significantly reduce its size.

🎵 2 - Find a shorter version of the song

If you’re not attached to a specific arrangement, try transcribing a shorter version of the song.

Example: If your original guitar recording is too long, look for a simplified or condensed version that fits within the file size limit.

If you want to keep the exact same version but shorten it, you can use an online audio cutter to select a portion of the song.

If your MP3 file still exceeds 15MB, you can compress it to reduce its size. However, be careful—too much compression may lower the transcription quality.
