On BassConvert, some recordings may not transcribe correctly due to a few common issues. Below are the most frequent reasons — and what you can do to resolve them:

🎸 1) Your audio file is too large or too long

BassConvert has limitations regarding file size and duration.

✅ Make sure your audio file is under 15MB

✅ YouTube videos must be no longer than 10 minutes

💡 Tip: If your file is in .wav or .flac and exceeds the limit, convert it to .mp3 to reduce its size. Try this free tool: https://convertio.co/wav-mp3/

🛑 2) Your audio file contains internal errors

Some files may be corrupted or unreadable, which prevents BassConvert from processing them.

🔹 Try uploading a different version of the same bass recording

🔹 If your file is in WAV, convert it to MP3 for better compatibility

🌐 3) Temporary internal error on BassConvert

BassConvert runs on cloud infrastructure, and occasional server issues may temporarily prevent transcriptions.

🕒 Solution: Wait a few minutes and try again. These issues usually resolve quickly.

🔗 4) Unsupported YouTube link format

Some YouTube URLs may not be recognized properly. Try copying the link using one of these methods:

1️⃣ Copy the link directly from your browser’s address bar

2️⃣ Right-click on the YouTube search result and select “Copy link”

3️⃣ Use the Share button on the video and copy the link from the popup

🎸 Still having issues? Try uploading your file in MP3 format or choose a different video. It often solves the problem immediately.

5) Your VPN may be interfering with the transcription

Some users have reported that having a VPN enabled on their device caused transcription processes to fail (e.g., stopping at 90%) or prevented file downloads. If you are using a VPN, we recommend turning it off and trying again. This small change has resolved many similar cases.
