Even if you follow all best practices, BassConvert may still produce occasional transcription errors. Automatic bass transcription is a complex process, and issues like wrong fret positions, incorrect notes, or timing inaccuracies can sometimes occur.

Since BassConvert generates both sheet music and tablature, we recommend carefully reviewing your tablature lines, as they give the most accurate representation of how to play the piece on bass.

1) Instantly edit your sheet music in our in-app editor (Premium Only)

If you’ve subscribed to a plan and transcribed a full track (not just the free 30-second preview), you now have access to our built-in sheet music editor right after your transcription is complete.

With this editor, you can:

- Visually correct wrong notes directly on the digital sheet music.

- Add or remove notes, adjust durations, time signatures, and dynamics.

- Play back your transcription using realistic sounds.

- Print your final sheet or export it as PDF, MIDI, or MusicXML.

- Work interactively on desktop, tablet or smartphone, without installing anything.

This feature is seamlessly integrated into the sheet music view and requires no software download or file export.

⚠️ Please note: This in-app editing tool is only available for full transcriptions done with a paid plan. Free 30-second previews are view-only and cannot be edited inside the app.

🎸 2) Try another version of the piece

If you’re not attached to a particular version, try transcribing a different take of the same bass line.

For better accuracy:

✅ Use a recording with a clean, solo bass performance

✅ Prefer studio recordings or playthroughs over live sessions

✅ Choose a simplified arrangement if available

💡 Tip: Always use the 30-second free trial to preview the transcription accuracy before converting a full track.

✏ 3) Manually correct the remaining errors in the tablature

If you want to stick with a specific version of the song, we recommend editing the MIDI file manually to fix fret positions, rhythms, or note duration.

Most tablature editors let you:

✅ Adjust fret positions for easier playability

✅ Correct timing issues or rhythmic inconsistencies

✅ Refine slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and other articulations

Here are some free tools to help you edit your tablatures or MIDI files:

TuxGuitar

Guitar Pro (trial version)

Aria Maestosa

Signal

Once corrected, you can export the updated version as PDF with both standard notation and tablature using tools like MuseScore or Flat.io.

🎼 4) Transcribe again with musical details

To improve results, enter information before launching the transcription:

✅ Time signature (e.g., 4/4, 3/4, etc.)

✅ BPM (tempo)

This helps BassConvert place the notes more accurately within the bars and improve rhythmic alignment.
