On BandConvert, some multi-instrument performances may not be transcribed correctly. Below are the most common reasons for transcription errors and how to resolve them:

🎼 1) Your file is too large or too long

BandConvert has limitations on file size and song length to ensure smooth processing.

Your audio file should not exceed 15MB

YouTube videos should be no longer than 10 minutes

💡 Tip: If your file exceeds 15MB, convert it to MP3 to reduce its size before uploading. You can use this tool: https://convertio.co/wav-mp3/

🔊 2) Your audio file contains internal errors

Some multi-instrument recordings may have corrupt or complex elements that prevent BandConvert from processing them correctly.

🔹 Try a different version of the recording

🔹 Convert WAV files to MP3 for better compatibility

💡 Convert your file here: https://convertio.co/wav-mp3/

🌐 3) There was an internal error on BandConvert

As BandConvert operates in the cloud, occasional server issues may interfere with transcription.

🕒 Solution: Try again after a few minutes.

🔗 4) Your YouTube link format is not supported

Some YouTube links may not be recognized. Try retrieving the link differently:

1️⃣ Copy the URL from your browser’s search bar

2️⃣ Right-click on a YouTube search result and copy the link

3️⃣ Click the “Share” button on the video and copy the link from the popup

🎼 Still having trouble? Try another method or use an MP3 file instead.

5) Your VPN may be interfering with the transcription

Some users have reported that having a VPN enabled on their device caused transcription processes to fail (e.g., stopping at 90%) or prevented file downloads. If you are using a VPN, we recommend turning it off and trying again. This small change has resolved many similar cases.
