BandConvert cannot transcribe recordings that are too long or too large. The following limits apply:

Audio files must be under 15 MB

YouTube videos must be under 10 minutes

If your file exceeds these limits, here’s how to reduce its size without losing too much quality:

🎼 1 - Convert to MP3 format

If your multi-instrument recording is in WAV or FLAC format, converting it to MP3 will reduce its size.

🔹 Convert your file here:

https://convertio.co/wav-mp3/

🎶 2 - Use a shorter version of the song

If you don’t need the full version, try finding a shorter recording that still captures the essence of the piece.

Example: If you’re transcribing an orchestral performance, look for a condensed version.

✂ 3 - Trim your audio file

If you want to keep the same version but shorten it, use an audio cutter to select a portion of the piece.

🔹 Trim your audio file here:

🎚 4 - Compress your MP3 file

If your MP3 file still exceeds 15MB, you can compress it to reduce its size. However, excessive compression may degrade the transcription accuracy.

🔹 Use this tool to compress your MP3 file:

📌 Tip: Use the 30-second free trial before transcribing an entire piece to check if the quality meets your expectations.
